Owing to the ongoing and fluid nature  of the  COVID-19  situation globally,
announced  activities  might  be  cut short,  postponed,  cancelled  or even
extended at any time and without notice.

4U1UN  - 4U1UN has been  active again  since  11 April.  As part of the Stay
         Home  movement, during the  UN HQ  building  lockdown,  the  United
         Nations Radio Club has been granted special permission to utilize a
         very limited remote operation  possibility.  Considering the demand
         for digital modes for 4U1UN, operation will be limited to  FT8 mode
         only. The operator at the keyboard is James, K2QI. QSL via LoTW, or
         via HB9BOU (direct or bureau).
A3     - Stan, LZ1GC will be active as  A35GC  from Tonga (OC-049)  from  19
         October to  2 November.  He will operate  CW, SSB, RTTY and FT8  on

CT8    - Celebrating his  82nd birthday,  Antonio, CU8AS  will be active  as
         CQ82AS  on  1-7 May.  He is a resident  on  Flores Island (EU-089),

E6     - Stan, LZ1GC and Ivan, LZ1PM will be active  as E6AM from  Niue (OC-
         040) from  28 September to  17 October.  They will operate CW, SSB,
         RTTY and FT8 on 160-6 metres with two stations.  QSL via Club Log's
         OQRS, LoTW,  or via  LZ1GC (direct or bureau).  QSLling policy  and

EA     - Celebrating  World Amateur Day  and  IARU's 95th  anniversary,  ten
         special callsigns will be active on 15-30 April: AM95WARD, AM1WARD,
         AM2WARD, AM3WARD,  AM4WARD,  AM5WARD,  AM6WARD  (Balearic Islands),
         AM7WARD,  AM8WARD (Canary Islands)  and  AM9WARD (Ceuta & Melilla).

         the OQRS and the IARU 95th Anniversary Award.
         In addition, all Spanish radio amateurs are allowed  to use special
         prefixes during the same time frame:
         EA stations can use AO + call area + 95 + suffix: AO395PP  = EA3PP
         EB stations can use AM + call area + 95 + suffix: AM795R   = EB7R
         EC stations can use AN + call area + 95 + suffix: AN595AHA = EC5AHA
F      - The  Association  Promotion Radio Amateur  du 62  (F4KLR)  will  be
         active as TM18JUIN in May (8-9, 23-24 and 30-31) and June (6-7, 13-
         14, 18-21  and  27)  to commemorate  the  80th anniversary  of  the
         "Appeal of 18 June"  made  by  Charles de Gaulle  from  the BBC  in
         London. All QSOs will be confirmed automatically via the bureau and
         eQSL; direct requests via F4AHN.  Often regarded  as the origin  of
         the French Resistance against  the occupation during  World War II,
         the appeal is one of  the most remarkable pieces in  the history of
         radio  broadcasting,  and as such  it  has been  inscribed  to  the
         UNESCO's Memory of the World Register.
G      - Members of the  Bury Radio Society (G3BRS) will operate  as  GB9WYH
         From  13 April  until  11 May.  The special callsign,  whose suffix
         stands for Wash Your Hands,  is being activated  to raise awareness
         and reinforce the message that washing hands will save lives during
         the COVID-19 pandemic.

         add /NHS to the end of their call signs" if they want to show their
         support for the National Health Service.

         will be active  as  GB75VED  on  1-28 May  to commemorate the  75th

G      - RSGB Contest Club's members will be active  as  GB1945PE,  GB1945PJ
         and GB75PEACE  on 1-31 May and again  on 1-31 August as part of the
         VE Day and VJ Day celebrations.  Look for activity on the  HF bands
         and 6 metres SSB, CW  and  digital modes.  QSLs via LoTW  and  eQSL
         only, paper cards will not be available.
HA     - The Hungarian Amateur Radio Society (MRASZ) has joined the  Stay at
         Home campaign with five special callsigns  whose suffixes  form the
         popular motto: HG20ST, HG20AY, HG20AT, HG20HO and HG20ME.  Look for
         activity on 160-10 metres  CW, SSB and digital modes from  15 April
         until 15 May.  QSLs via LoTW  or via the bureau.  An award  will be
         available for working  each callsign  on  two different modes:  see

LA     - The  Norwegian National Guard's Radio Amateur Club (LA1V)  has been
         granted permission to use the special callsign LN1V throughout 2020
         to mark the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Norway at the end

         celebrate both the 75th anniversary of the liberation  of the  city
         of Borne during World War II (3 April 1945) and  the  75th anniver-
         sary of the VERON, the Dutch IARU society  which was founded on  21
         October 1945.  He will operate  SSB, FT8 and FT4  on 80, 40, 20, 10
         and 2 metres. QSL via PE2V.
VE     - The Grassroots Amateur Radio Club (VO1GRC) will be active as XN1BOA
         between 25 April and 25 May to commemorate the  75th anniversary of
         the end of the Battle of the Atlantic. QSL via operator's  instruc-
         tions
VK     - The Wireless Institute of Australia (https://www.wia.org.au/)  will
         celebrate World Amateur Radio Day and the  society's 110th anniver-
         sary for six months starting  on  17 April at 14 UTC.  WIA official
         stations that will operate across Australia  are VI110WIA,  VK1WIA,
         VK2WIA, VK3WIA, VK4WIA, VK5WIA, VK6WIA, VK7WIA and VK8WIA.  QSL via
         LoTW and eQSL;  a commemorative certificate  will be  available for
         contacting one or more of these special event stations.
VK     - VI250COOK is a special event callsign granted to the Cairns Amateur
         Radio Club (VK4CNS) for use  from  1 May to 31 August.  It commemo-
         rates the  250th anniversary since  Captain James Cook and the  HMS
         Endeavour charted the East Coast of Australia, sailing from what is
         now Sydney to what is now Cooktown.
YO     - Members of the Federatia Romana de Radioamatorism will use  special
         callsign YO19STAYHOME from  15 April to 15 September.  QSL via LoTW

YB     - ORARI Daerah Jawa Tengah will join the  Stay Home campaign  and  be
         active as 8C2WFH from  20 April to 19 May.  The special  callsign's
         suffix stands for Work From Home.  Look for activity on 80, 40, 20,

CONTEST UNIVERSITY 2020 ---> The  Dayton event  has been cancelled,  but CTU
2020 will still take place on 14 May. It will be held online  free of charge
via Zoom, starting at 12.45 UTC (08.45 EDT). The link will be available on 7
May on https://www.contestuniversity.com/, where the Course Outline  page is
already up  and  running.  CTU 2020  will end  at  22 UTC (18 EDT)  with the
presentation of this year's CQ Contest Hall of Fame.

CQMM DX CONTEST ---> The CQ MM DX Contest, organized by the  Juiz de Fora CW
Group, will be held  on  18-19 April.  It will run from  9 UTC  on  Saturday
through  23.59 UTC on Sunday, on  80, 40, 20, 15 and 10 metres CW.  Complete

HAM RADIO FRIEDRICHSHAFEN CANCELLED ---> As large-scale  public events  will
remain banned in Germany until  31 August  owing to the COVID-19 crisis, the
45th Ham Radio Friedrichshafen will not take place on 26-28 June as planned.
The 2020 event has been cancelled, and Ham Radio  will return on  25-27 June
2021. For the time being, "exhibitors will be presenting product innovations
in the form of a virtual trade fair"  and  DARC  "will be offering presenta-
tions" on the Ham Radio website: http://www.hamradio-friedrichshafen.de/.

NEW IOTA CHECKPOINT ---> The IOTA Management Team has announced the appoint-
ment with immediate effect of a new checkpoint to cover Ukraine, Belarus and
Moldova.  Andrei Plotkin, UT5URW (ut5urw[@]yahoo.com) has agreed  to take on
checkpoint duties, previously covered by Igor Zeldin, UR5LCV (SK).

NEW WPX CONTEST DIRECTOR ---> Joseph W. "Bud" Trench, AA3B is the new Direc-
tor of the CQ WPX SSB and  CW Contests.  He succeeds  Randy Thompson (K5ZD),
who has been serving as Interim Director [425DXN 1509]. Licenced since 1970,
Bud has a passion for contesting,  and among his achievements are  15 first-
place finishes in the CQ WW DX CW Contest as V26K in the SO LP category, in-
cluding the current world record.  He will start  immediately  to work  with
Randy on processing the results  of last month's  WPX SSB Contest,  and will
take the reins for next month's WPX CW Contest.

R207RRC ---> The team made about 8,300 QSOs during their  4-11 April  opera-
Tion  from  Kosa Dvukh Pilotov  (AS-207,  new one  for IOTA).  The  log  has
been uploaded to  Club Log  (https://clublog.org/logsearch/R207RRC)  and the
OQRS has been enabled.

QSL 9J2LA ---> "The QSL card has now been prepared and was sent yesterday to
UX5UO QSL Print",  Charles (M0OXO)  reported  on  14 April.  "I estimate the
cards will be out in 3-4 weeks depending on the status of the postal service
world ide and any potential influence on it by the COVID-19 situation".

QSL VP8PJ ---> "On 10 April the VP8PJ QSL  card design was sent  to  ON5UR's
QSL Print Service for review and setup", Gene (K5GS) announced on  12 April.
"After our final review is complete the cards will be printed and shipped to
M0URX for distribution.  Thousands of QSO  and  mailing labels  have already
been processed and are ready  for placement  on  QSL cards  and  direct mail
envelopes. Bureau cards will be placed in the system in early 2021.
There are no busted call requests in the work queue - to date, all  731 have
been investigated  and  answered by M0URX.  LoTW uploads for all donors  and
anyone who submitted an OQRS for a Direct Mail card have been processed. The
upload process is run daily.  The complete log will be uploaded to  LoTW six
months after the DXpedition".
As the COVID-19 crisis  is affecting  postal systems,  direct cards  will be
mailed as soon as practicable. Please be patient,  "there is no need to send
e-mails asking about the QSL cards".

TQSL: NEW VERSION ---> A new version (v2.5.3) of LoTW's  Trusted QSL  (TQSL)
has been released: http://www.arrl.org/tqsl-download.  This version  has new
features as well as  corrections  for defects  found  since  TQSL 2.5.2  was
released. TQSL 2.5.3 can be installed to upgrade  any older version.  On all
three  supported  platforms  (Windows,  MacOS  and  Linux), installing  TQSL
2.5.3 will replace  older  versions  of  Trusted QSL  while  preserving your
Callsign Certificates, Station Locations, and preferences.
